“I absolutely love the Djambla! Inspiring, intuitive and will take your percussion recordings and performances to the next level. I used it on a djembe and was able to pedal a wide array of articulations, tunings, and dynamics! The Djambla will transform your percussion to handle a more diverse variety of musical situations.

Once you use a Djambla, you can’t go back! I highly recommend it!”

REVOLUTIONARY

UNLOCK YOUR DRUM

Existing drums can produce as many as 50 tones at the hands of a skilled performer. The nuances of where and how you hit the drum can produce tones ranging from the powerful to the sublime. But there’s more hidden away. Imagine adding one additional note and the sound palette instantly doubles.

Add 4 for a total of 5 and your drum is unlocked.. it can sing!

PISTON + PEDAL = PITCH CONTROL

The Djambla changes the way drums project their sound by controlling the air flow exiting the drum. Using a foot pedal, you can play with both hands while lowering and raising the pitch as desired. The djambla never touches the drum head so it doesn’t stress the drum in any way.

“The Djambla is an amazing leap forward for percussionists and drummers. It creates a palette of sounds and tones from a previously monophonic instrument. Like the wah wah was to guitar, this is to the drum. “

– Randy Bachman

Randy has sold over 40 million records world wide with The Guess Who, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Trooper, Ringo Starr All Starr Band, Bachman & Bachman

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The Djambla consists of 2 components: the piston assembly and the pedal. The piston assembly friction-fits into the base of the drum held firmly in place with rubber grips that adjust to the width of your drum. Connected to the foot pedal, you can lower and raise the piston or pitch while playing to create tabla or talking drum sounds.

The Djambla extends the chromatic range of your drum to 5 semitones. For instance, if your drum is naturally tuned to A you will be able to play A – Ab – G – F# – F by moving the foot pedal to the corresponding position.

FRICTION-FIT

The Djambla causes no stress or damage to the drum. The piston assembly has 4 adjustable rubber grips to fit your drum’s shape allowing you to push the unit into the inside of the drum with zero impact on the wood. Nothing else touches the drum.

The Djambla is handmade in Canada using the finest materials and hardware. We designed it with strength and beauty to last for years.

"The Djambla is a really clever device! It opens the door to sound manipulation for drummers and percussionists like stomp boxes do for guitars. The difference is that it does it acoustically, changing the pitch of a drum in the middle of a performance or even mid-note.

Tabla or timpani-like parts can be executed on hand drums. The creative possibilities are endless; it's the invention of the whammy bar made for drummers!"
